Get a Diplomatic Discount on your new Mercedes

8 minutes | Tuesday, 22 April 2025

Today on The Breakfast Show, we spoke with Andrew Hirschy, Head of Diplomatic Sales at Garage de L’Étoile - part of the long-standing, family-run André Chevalley Group. Founded in 1972, the group has grown from a small family venture into a respected name in Swiss automotive, now operating six agencies and representing brands like Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, and Volvo.

Andrew gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the Diplomatic Sales Center on Rue de Vermont - the oldest still-active Mercedes dealership in Geneva - and talked us through the highly personalised approach they take with diplomatic clients: considering everything from previous vehicles and driving habits to preferences in technology and terrain.

As part of Mercedes-Benz’s official Diplomatic Sales program in Switzerland, eligible clients can benefit from significant savings when purchasing a vehicle through Garage de L’Étoile. Depending on the model and the buyer’s diplomatic status, discounts typically range from 18% to 27% off the catalogue price, which can translate into savings of CHF 15,000 to CHF 25,000. In certain cases, particularly for those exempt from VAT or customs duties, discounts can reach up to 36%. These benefits are available to diplomats, international civil servants, and members of recognised international organisations, provided they hold a valid legitimation card.

The Garage are happy to accept walk-ins, or you can make an appointment at https://mercedes-chevalley.ch/offres/diplomatic-center-mercedes-geneva
