Lorraine McDowell is a geneticist and President of 'Expanding Your Horizons' - an association that's aimed at encouraging young girls (11-14yrs) in school in the Geneva area to explore the world of #STEM
As the association's President, she works with a dedicated committee of volunteers to run a biennial science conference for young girls. This year, they have 470 girls signed up to attend at Unimail in Geneva, with the help of 90 volunteers.
Through EYH, they've created a vibrant community of female role models from industry and academia, showing young girls the exciting possibilities in STEM fields, inspiring confidence and curiosity as girls participate in hands-on workshops, talks and mentoring sessions.
