Residents in the City of Zurich will be able to celebrate well into the night if Switzerland win against Spain tomorrow. The city says it will be a ‘Freinacht’ if the national team is victorious.
A ‘Freinacht’ is given occasionally by authorities and it means the suspension of all normal closing times for bars – they will be allowed to stay open all night.
But it will only apply indoors – to make sure others can sleep, the terraces will have to close.
Even so – if Switzerland win, or shall we say when they win, Zurich City will be messy tomorrow night.
