Swiss Federal Railways is apologising to a woman after her locker at Zug train station failed to open, so she was forced to sleep at an ex-boyfriend’s apartment.

Tanja had used the locker to store her clothes and valuables as she went to the gym one evening.

When she returned, the locker wouldn’t open. She called the helpline, but was told no one can come out after 10pm, the police won’t help as it’s on private property and she can’t get a hotel as she has no credit card or ID.

In the end, she called an ex-boyfriend who lives nearby and slept the night on his sofa.

Swiss Federal Railways says her call was mishandled and emergency services should have been called. Tanja has been offered CHF 150 in compensation.
