Worries of a serial arsonist in Solothurn

Police in canton Solothurn fear they have a serial arsonist on their hands.

The fires have been concentrated around the Wasseramt region, south of the city of Solothurn.

Over the weekend, firefighters were called out twice in the space of a few minutes. At 1am on Sunday morning a carpentry shop and a warehouse were destroyed by fires.

The last two are the latest in a series of around 10 cases which have been going on since the beginning of April. Locals say they’re scared – especially those who own large wooden buildings.
