Winter sport prices beat inflation

Skiers will have to dig deeper in their pockets this year to enjoy the slopes – prices are significantly higher than the inflation rate.

The average price for a hotel is 4.5% more – and a ski pass is up 3.3%.

The average inflation rate last year was 1.1%.

The main driver of this year’s hike is the great weather. Many businesses are responding to higher demand.

The survey has been carried out by the price comparison site, Comparis.

They point out that prices will surge further at peak times.
