The Geneva minister of transport, Pierre Maudet, will be at a meeting in neighbouring France today to answer questions as why the tram 15 extension is taking so long.
The plan is the tram should cross the border and end in St Julien-en-Genevois.
But although the route through Switzerland has been cleared by the canton and the Confederation, local objections have stopped construction,
Residents across the border are impatient for the arrival of the tram. The meeting will take stock of the current situation.
There are hopes the legal challenges can soon be settled and work will re-start in the second half of this year.
