The World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos has been cancelled. It was due to be held next month and so the change is very short notice.
The WEF says the reason is the pandemic and the various travel restrictions.
But it may not be the end of the 2022 edition. There are tentative plans to reschedule for the early summer, again in Davos.
The cancellation is a blow to the local hotel industry – the meeting provides a major cash injection for the town.
It should have taken place from the 17th January.
The pandemic has scuppered the meeting for the last two years. The last time it was held in person was in 2020. Last year a virtual meeting was held.
