Yet another warning about a scam – this one involved the weather.
The Federal Office for Cyber Security is warning about a letter that being sent to various households which is supposedly from the Meteorology Office.
The very formal looking letter has a QR code which it says links to a new ‘severe weather warning app’ – but it doesn’t, it will download malware onto your phone designed to steal passwords.
Authorities ask anyone who receives the letter to send it to them – but don’t scan the QR code.
