Geneva public transport workers are threatening to strike in the early New Year.
While part of the dispute is over pay, unions are asking for a 3% rise – but workers have been offered 1%, the major issue seems to be working conditions.
Unions say stressful conditions means there’s an absentee rate of nearly 10%.
They’re complaining about new working schedules, especially longer shifts as services now operate later into the night.
They add there isn’t enough reserve staff to cover for shortages and training for new vehicles is taking too long.
The TPG says they’re talking to unions and will be implementing various improvements.
