Top hotel holds ultimate garage sale

It could be classed as the ultimate garage sale.

The 5-star Fairmont Hotel is closed now for a 2-and-a-half-year renovation project, so it’s auctioning off thousands of items.

Everything from furniture to leather tissue holders and luggage trolleys are for sale – bids start at 5 francs for many items.

There are also bottles of top-quality whiskey and other spirits for sale.

It’s expected many bidders will be other hotel chains – but the auction is open to everyone.

It starts on Monday and runs all next week.
