Swiss President Viola Amherd will attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris today and stay there until Sunday.
Yesterday she took part in the Summit for Sport and Sustainable Development.
As well as being the President, she is also the head of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport and so she announced yesterday that she plans to attend as many events in which Swiss athletes are competing as possible.
