SWISS International Airlines was within its rights to fire employees who refused the covid vaccine.
That’s a ruling from a court in Bülach in canton Zurich.
The company brought in a policy that all workers had to be vaccinated during the height of the pandemic in 2021.
The airlines told the court that staff scheduling would have been too complicated if it had to consider different vaccination statuses. In all 150 employees were let go.
The case highlighted two specific workers, a pilot and a cabin crew member.
Judges ruled personal rights of an employee do not enjoy absolute protection.
