The peace of cantons Schwyz and Lucerne was shattered yesterday afternoon by sonic booms.
Two F/A-18s were scrambled to escort a Swiss International Airlines aircraft which was heading to Zurich following a bomb scare.
The army says the planes were forced into supersonic speed as they had to race to catch up with the aircraft.
The bomb threat was found to be hoax and not aimed at the plane either. It was directed at the Kosovan airport the plane had left from.
