The Socialist Party has taken the plunge to campaign to maintain the current Covid restrictions with the slogan ‘it’s common sense’.
Voters are to decide if all the laws surrounding the pandemic should be abandoned next month.
There are fears in the government that opponents have stolen a march on the debate.
The Covid laws are supported by all political parties except the Swiss People’s Party.
Polls suggest the laws are also generally supported by the population, 63% – the silent majority, says Socialist Party MP, Roger Nordmann.
The party raised more than CHF 100,000 for the campaign in the first 24 hours.
As it’s a referendum on a law passed by parliament, to keep the status quo, voters are being asked to vote ‘yes’.
