The warning sirens will be tested across the country later today.
The test will last for about a minute between 1.30 and 4.30 this afternoon. The mobile phone app – AlertSuisse – will also be tested.
The app also handles more languages this year including Spanish, Turkish, Arabic and Ukrainian.
If the alarms sound for real at any other time – it’s advised to listen to the radio or television or refer to the app.
But no action is required this afternoon.
