Report slams Léman Express projects

Auditors have issued a scathing report on the Léman Express service. Not the actual trains, but the status of a series of projects designed to boost the attractiveness of using the service itself.

For the first time, three different Courts of Auditors joined forces – cantons Geneva and Vaud and France – to write the report.

They find that over 60% of the projects, which include park and ride carparks, cycle lanes and bus stops – are late.

The Léman Express opened to great fanfare four years ago.

One of the main problems identified was opposition from local authorities.
