Although more French drivers are now filling their cars up in Switzerland, there’s no danger of a fuel shortage - and people are being urged to remain calm.
An ongoing strike by refinery workers in France is leading to shortages across the neighbouring country. Service stations in Geneva are reporting demand running at 4 times the normal level.
While there have been some isolated cases of filling stations running out of fuel for brief periods – there is enough to go around.
