The canton of Geneva is proposing a new plan on how to finance Park and Ride schemes in neighbouring France.
The issue has been a hot topic ever since voters in Geneva rejected plans to pay for any schemes in France ten years ago.
The Geneva government has put forward a proposal it’s discussed with the two neighbouring French departments.
It will put forward CHF 50m – if France puts in a similar amount.
The main difference this time is that it will be based on individual projects – and every project must show it will benefit mobility in the canton.
