Naked man tasered in Zurich

Zurich police had to use a taser on a knife wielding naked man in Wollishofen on Saturday. They say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

He’d wandered into the local Coop shop – waving the knife around erratically.

He refused police commands to put the knife down. Officers first used pepper spray – but that had no effect – and so were forced to use a taser.

Police remain on high alert after a recent stabbing attack on a Jewish man. But they say they’re ruling out any racist or extremist motive at this point.
