The Mont-Blanc Tunnel will be closed for three months from September.
It’s to allow for major renovation work which had to be postponed from last year after a landslide blocked part of the A43 autoroute. The tunnel was kept open to keep the traffic flowing.
Authorities say the work is necessary to ensure safety in the tunnel, which is now 60 years old.
It will close on September 2nd and reopen December 16th.
