Media literacy in Switzerland is low

The Swiss population struggle to understand what’s being told to them by the media.

A study carried out by the Federal Office of Communication shows many fail to understand the difference between a news article, which is delivering information, from an opinion piece to advertising. 

3,000 people were asked to distinguish between different news items – it covered French and German speaking areas.
