A massive catfish has been found in the Greifensee in canton Zurich.
The fish was already dead – but it was way longer than 2 meters. It was found by paddleboarders who use their boards to measure it.
The pointed out the boards are 1.95m – and fish was longer than that.
Catfish were illegally introduced into the lake 30 years ago and have been thriving ever since. They’re a voracious predator and mainly eat fish – but sometimes small water birds.
The lake is 6km long and one and a half wide.
