A man has been found guilty of setting a series of fires at the Lignon housing estate in Geneva and will have to undergo psychiatric treatment at a secure centre.
All three judges determined the man, who had denied the charges, guilty. But accepted he was mentally ill.
He will have to undergo treatment but could be released once doctors believe there’s no risk of reoffending.
The court heard the 64 year old's mental health deteriorated after a lengthy hospital stay during covid.
