Leisure accidents are costing the economy billions in medical bills and lost work.
The Accident Prevention Office says more needs to be done to cut the increasing rate.
It says accidents outside the workplace cost CHF 12bn and 8 million working days. 40,000 are seriously injured, many permanently.
30 years ago, it was occupational injuries that dominated, but they’re now way down and now twice as many people have an accident during their free time than at work.
