Planes were unable to take off at Zurich airport yesterday afternoon. The problem was a technical issue with the air traffic control system Skyguide.
The airport says an IT failure started at around 2pm – grounding all planes. Arrivals were unaffected.
The issue lasted for 2 hours.
No flights were cancelled, but around 60 were delayed – impacting over 6,000 passengers.
