Govt sets end dates for restrictions

BAG

The Federal Council says many of the current restrictions will stay for the time being – although the government has set dates which we can all look towards.

The biggest change in the short term is that it will not be necessary to have a negative test to enter Switzerland from Saturday, for those who have been vaccinated.

For other restrictions. It will remain necessary to work from home until the end of February. Current quarantine rules will also stay in place until that time.

The 2G and 2G plus rules for vaccine certificates will remain until the end of March. Although the Health Minister Alain Berset says that will be continually assessed.

At yesterday’s press conference, Berset also said there is a chance that infections have peaked. He made the point the government’s decisions are not being based on infections, but on hospitalization rates. He says the health system is coping at the moment.

In the most unsurprising move. The length of validity of vaccination passes is being cut to 270 days. This follows EU rules and makes sure Swiss passes will remain valid in the rest of Europe.
