The government is meeting today to discuss new measures to fight the continuing wave of infections.
Commentators suggest the government will be discussing three possible actions. A new lockdown, as Austria has done, or compulsory mask wearing everywhere, which would mean the closure of bars and restaurants or the national implementation of 2G laws – removing the possibility of a negative test for use as a health pass.
It’s thought the first two options will be politically unacceptable for the cantons and some federal councillors, but the idea of only letting the vaccinated or recovered access to public spaces could be possible.
