If you struggled to watch yesterday's Swiss-Scotland 1 all draw on a terrace in Geneva last night, that’s because the city has banned showing the football in public spaces until the quarter finals.
The city says it’s a matter of common sense. It wants to centralize fans to the fan zone on the Plainpalais.
But the bar trade is angry and some say their turnover has dropped. But others say football fans are not the best customers as they will have only a few beers and then all leave as soon as the game is over.
TVs can be on the street when the quarter finals start on July 5th.
But the ban is only in the City of Geneva – other municipalities are more open.
