Geneva shop hours continue to be discussed

Business leaders in Geneva say they will continue to fight for more flexible arrangements despite voters rejecting a change to shop opening hours last weekend.

54% said ‘no’ to later Saturday opening and some limited Sunday shopping hours. 

Vincent Subilia from the Geneva Chamber of Commerce says the fight for local businesses will continue.

There are concerns shops in Geneva are at a disadvantage from cross border trade and online shopping. 

Unions say they are open to further talks - but stress they want to make sure workers are fairly compensated.
