The Geneva Minister of Health, Mauro Poggia, wants to pile on the pressure further on those who refuse to be vaccinated and suggests if they end up in hospital – they should be charged for their care.
He says solidarity with the unvaccinated ‘has its limits’.
He points out 90% of those hospitalized with Covid have not had the vaccine.
He does admit that the canton would not have the power to bring in such proposals by itself, it would have to be on a federal level – but he does want to start a debate.
Meanwhile an initiative to outlaw any plans to bring in compulsory vaccination has already collected over 90,000 signatures. It looks certain to reach 100,000 which would bring the issue to a vote.
