Although it wasn’t on the agenda for last night’s meeting of the Geneva Grand Council, the issue of the new vehicle tax dominated proceedings.
While all the different ideas to reduce the price shock will now go into committee – one motion has been accepted.
Those who received a large bill now have until the end of June to pay it and can pay it in instalments.
But plenty of other ideas are now on the table – from scrapping the new law entirely or bringing it in in stages over a few years or having a ceiling which bills can’t breach.
