Fire in Aargau caused by scooter battery

An apartment in Zurzach in Canton Argau has been declared inhabitable after an electric scooter battery caught fire in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Shortly before 4am on Sunday the inhabitants heard an explosion in their apartment and discovered the fire in the living room where the scooter battery had been left to charge overnight. They evacuated the apartment and notified other residents in the building. 

20 minutes later the emergency services had arrived and extinguished the fire. 

Noone was hurt.
