February set to break records

This month will be the hottest February since 1864.

MeteoNews say the average temperatures were 4.9 degrees higher than normal.

The previous record was set in 1990, with highs 4.1 above normal.

Forecasters say the warmer weather is having a visible effect. They point out peach and apricot trees are in flower, about two weeks earlier than normal. The flowers could be killed if there’s a frost next month.
