Electric car sales are slowing and now many doubt Switzerland will hit the target of having 50% of cars on the road either fully electric or hybrid by 2035.
Last year nearly 21% of all cars sold were purely electric – and another 9% were hybrids.
The sales are not as high as many had hoped. The head of the association, Swiss E-Mobility, Krispin Romang says it’s clear the target won’t be reached.
The climate protection law, which was voted on by the people, says this country must have cut carbon emissions by 57% by 2050. So far, it’s 7%.
