A new survey suggests the number of cross border workers in Geneva will double in the next ten years.
The main reason will be a shortage of workers in Switzerland due to an aging population.
The survey, carried out by Crédit Agricole and the European Cross-Border Group, also shows the majority of frontaliers are fairly mature – over 40 years old – and most are French nationals.
The vast majority work in canton Geneva.
But to highlight potential problems with cross border working and telecommuting – a quarter say they work from home at least one day a week.
