Despite a major covid wave underway, the vaccination centre at the University Hospital in Geneva will close at the end of the year.
Anyone who wants to get a covid vaccination can go to their own doctor or a pharmacy.
The cantonal doctor, Aglaé Tardin, says all those over 65 or with chronic health conditions is entitled to free vaccination. She adds most people in Geneva are getting vaccinated at pharmacies anyway.
The hospital vaccination centre weas one of the first to open – and it will be the last to close – says the Geneva pharmacist, Nathalie Vernaz.
She says its part of the move to make covid vaccinations routine – just like the flu.
