Most of the weather-related delays were on Saturday, but knock on effects continued to be felt yesterday as planes and crews were stuck at the wrong airports.
The weather also caused problems for flights from Geneva – not because of issues here, but at other European destinations.
French speaking parts were largely spared the cold snap, but trams in Bern broke down due to iced power lines and police say there were a spate of accidents on the roads in central parts of the country.
But the weather is set to be unusually warm for the next couple of days now. Highs could reach 17 in some Alpine valleys – but rain is expected.
