The Tiktok influencer who dropped thousands of francs in cash from a drone in Zurich has been fined.
In May last year, hundreds of his followers had gathered on the Chinawiese meadow on the lake shore after being told to expect something exciting.
A drone appeared overhead and released CHF 24,000.
Videos show a stampede as people tried to catch the cash – in the confusion, a 12-year-old was seriously injured in the stomach with a knife.
The influencer, Joung Gustav, has five million followers and runs a vitamin drinks company. Its products are sold in Migros and Coop.
The unauthorized stunt was to draw attention to the brand.
He’s been fined CHF 450.
The investigation into how the child was injured with a knife has been closed with no conclusive results. But the police say if more information is received, it could be reopened.
