There are calls to bring in a day to remember those who have died of Covid 19.

One of the organisers of the campaign, Roman Bolliger, told the Blick newspaper that as the deaths have become more common place – people are losing compassion.

In total 13,231 people have died – 63 in the last four weeks alone.

While there have been some memorial events, they’ve been small, due to Covid restrictions.

There will be a day of remembrance on June 10th – with candles on the Bundesplatz in Bern.

But campaigners want to make it an annual event.
