Breathing dome on Plainpalais

Breathe - (c) Ville de Genève

A new art installation has appeared on the Plaine de Plainpalais. A 15-metre wide and 10-metre-high illuminated dome appears to pulsate – simulating breathing.

The work is called 'Breathe' and is the creation of local artist Dan Acher.

He says it’s designed to persuade us all to take a breather and relax – and escape from our hectic lives.

The dome will be on view for the next few days until Sunday 26 May, then the message will travel the world. It’s heading to Cognac in France, and then London, Paris, Singapore and Seoul.
