A base jumper fell to his death on Friday evening in canton Bern – but rescuers were unable to find the body until the next day.
Police in Stechelberg say the first reports came in at 8.45pm on Friday. Despite an immediate response with helicopters and drones, the search had to be called off as night fell.
The victim was found early Saturday morning. He was declared dead at the scene.
Police say it appears he crashed into the cliff face on the way down.
Investigations are underway.
