Public opinion seems to be moving away from expanding the autoroute network.
In ten days from now, voters will be asked if they approve of a CHF 5bn programme to widen the roads – including a stretch of the A1 between Geneva and Nyon.
The latest poll shows a small majority, 51%, now against, a reversal of previous surveys.
Also, voters seem to be turning against the idea of reforming the health insurance system, but those favouring a fresh approach still have a lead at 54% - but nearly 10% have yet to make up their mind in this complex topic.
And changing tenancy laws, which critics say hands too much power to landlords, seem set to be rejected after losing 14% of support - now at 50%.
Long term polling trends show opinions leading to a change of the status-quo tend to lose support as voting day approaches.
