For many years Apple has be trailing Google with it maps service. Especially with its ‘streetview’ function.
But it’s catching up and the American firm has a fleet of camera cars in Switzerland right now, mapping and photographing roads, and – crucially - cycle lanes.
Apple hopes its new service will be particularly useful to cyclists.
Like Google, faces and licence plates will be pixelated. Homeowners will also be able to request their houses are also blurred out.
The cars have moved down from German speaking areas and are now around the Lake Geneva region.
