Anti-harassment programme launched in Geneva

Geneva is going to force all those who work for the canton and are in contact with children or adolescents to be aware of cases of harassment or bullying – either in person or online.

It will involve around 8,000 people – from teachers, medical staff to librarians.

The cantonal Department of Public Instruction says the problem is ‘everyone’s business’.

Staff will have to take 5 one-hour online courses.

The programme is the brain child of the new State Councillor Anne Hiltpold who’s made the fight against peer harassment a priority.
