More than a hundred buildings in the Jonction area are now being heated by the lake.

The utility company, the SIG, has completed a heat pump system which takes lake water and uses the extracted heat to warm schools, the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, the University of Geneva Science complex, cantonal and city offices as well as 24 residential buildings.

The system will be expanded to more premises over the next few months.
