Geneva unhappy with new federal rules
The new rules are not going down well in Geneva.
The shut-down is not being accompanied by extra federal cash. The cantonal finance minister Nathalie Fontanet says the lack of support from the Confederation is situation is shocking.
A view shared by Geneva’s president, Anne Emery-Torracinta and the health minister Mauro Poggia who both complain the cantons are left to pick up the cost.
Outside the government, the head of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Vincent Subilia, says the new rules seem to be disproportionate. He says any financial help available to companies has to be distributed quickly.
