Heavy snow hits Geneva region
Heavy snow fell around the Lake Geneva region yesterday afternoon – causing traffic tailbacks and a series of minor accidents. But police say there were no major problems.

Firefighters were called into help stuck buses along the Avenue de la Paix and on the roads heading up to La Capite.
The situation was a bit more serious in neighbouring France. An accident on the A40 autoroute near Bellegarde caused major tailbacks yesterday afternoon.
Elsewhere in the country – avalanche warnings are in full effect in many ski resorts. The Snow and Avalanche Research Institute say there’s a risk of large spontaneous avalanches.
