Geneva acts to protect homeless in cold weather
The City of Geneva has activated its emergency cold plan for the homeless.

The city says the measures are brought into force when daytime temperatures may not rise above zero and night time is below zero for several nights in a row.
Shelters are open earlier. There are 230 places available throughout the city – some are for women only.
A hot meal is available as well as breakfast and people can take a shower.
Anyone who’s concerned about a homeless person can call on 022 427 88 00 24 hours a day and a team will go and check on them.
