Federal taskforce issues confusing messages
The Federal Coronavirus Taskforce sent confusing messages over the weekend. On Saturday at a press conference, the members seemed to be calling for an immediate closure of bars, restaurants and museums.
After reports in the press, some members of the taskforce said that wasn’t what was agreed – merely needing to be prepared to make the move if the infection rate doesn’t come down faster.
The head of the expert panel, Martin Ackermann had to roll back the position with the press yesterday.
He says they advise and the politicians decide. And there seems to be little appetite for stronger federal rules. In a statement the federal council says no further restrictions are currently planned.
